This appliqué block of the month, designed by Michele Hill, was inspired by the work of Augustus Welby Pugin (1812 – 1852) and William Morris. Pugin was a leading British architect, designer and artist and is best known for his interior design of the Palace of Westminster. He was also a catalyst for the Gothic revival style and influenced Morris and his designs greatly.
