OPERATING SINCE 2006

Katipatch was opened in 2006 as a specialist patchwork and quilting boutique to offer an unparalleled service to patchworkers and quilters in Katikati and New Zealand. Katipatch is for destination shoppers. The shop is located on an avocado orchard and is surrounded by a beautiful garden where you can wander at your leisure. Come and enjoy the ambience. If we don’t have what you want, we are happy to search the world for you.

Carol Biesiek, the owner, has officially been a patchworker and quilter for about 30 years after attending classes at a craft shop when she lived in Sydney, although she’d played around with appliqué, made patchwork cushions and piecing hexagons over the years before then. Once hooked, she avidly attended many other workshops to learn as much as she could, and has made dozens of quilts, bags and other items. Machine work is her personal interest, but she is extremely knowledgeable about most areas of the craft and is very willing to help you with any problems you may have.

Carol only stocks the best quality fabrics and accessories, believing that it is important to offer only the things she would use in her projects. Considering the amount of time spent making an item, she wouldn’t want to see it fall apart because of second-grade fabrics or threads.
