• The iris family is a favourite, with this dark blue/purple Dutch iris being the most popular. The regular three-pronged petals with their sprouting three-dimensional forms never cease to fascinate. The pure and dazzling yellow tongue provides a stunning focus  to each flower. What a surprise, the second flower hiding beneath the bloom, to arrive only when the first one is spent. All of this from one bulb! Here there are plump red tulips sprouting at various stages of flowering. Bulbs herald the start of springtime and in this quilt that joy of colour, optimism and new beginnings can be seen.
